I got engaged in 2022 and married in 2023, and if you’d looked at my search history that year, you’d have thought I was studying for an exam. I wasn’t a wedding planner. I wasn’t “crafty.” I just really, really wanted my wedding to feel like me, and I had no idea where to start.

So I did what most of you are probably doing right now: I opened Pinterest and fell down a hole I didn’t climb out of for twelve months.

I tried a dozen centerpiece ideas in my living room before picking one. I made a color palette, scrapped it, made another one. I learned the hard way which “budget-friendly” ideas actually save money and which ones just create more work. And since my own wedding, I’ve helped a handful of friends plan theirs too, which taught me just as much as planning my own.
